What happens when the fast-paced energy of Mumbai’s film industry meets the strategic brilliance of Global EMBA students from CEIBS Shanghai? You get an afternoon filled with disruptive ideas, green innovations, and a shared vision for a more sustainable future.
Ms. Anupama from Vault was invited to give a lecture on the Evolution of the Indian Film Industry—a business story. Within this engaging session, she smoothly segued into green industry practices as an essential element of modern business. She then invited Mr. Saurabh Kabra, Founder-CEO of Vault, as a guest speaker to discuss his innovation, which intrigued the attendees, the emerging global leaders from entrepreneurship backgrounds. Saurabh and Anupama had the incredible privilege of hosting these illustrious young minds for a deep dive into the “Business of Film,” covering the business evolution of the Indian film industry, its innovations, sustainable practices, green initiatives, and our disruptive entrepreneurship through VAULT—A Smart Storage Solution.
It wasn’t just a presentation; it was a cross-cultural exchange that proved that while our backgrounds may differ, our commitment to a greener planet is a universal language.
Evolution of Film: Beyond the Silver Screen
The film industry is often seen through the lens of glamour, but behind the scenes, it is an industry in a state of massive flux. We discussed:
-
- Shift in Production: How the evolution of storytelling requires faster, leaner, and more tech-driven logistics.
-
- Innovations Within: Moving away from traditional, wasteful practices toward a model that values longevity.
-
- Green Shoots: Identifying emerging sustainable trends taking root in professional settings across the globe.
Vault.rent: Disruptor in the Room

In a room full of future global leaders, we introduced Vault.rent; not just as a storage solution, but as a disruptive entrepreneurship model. We shared our Vault.rent’s secure, app-managed storage solution tailored for film productions, events, and homes.
Starting at INR 22 per sq. ft. in Bhiwandi, our facility near Mumbai’s Film City provides traceable inventory management, express 3-hour delivery, climate-controlled storage options, and pan-India logistics coverage, transforming idle assets into recyclable resources.
By rethinking how we handle “Costumepeti” and production assets, we aren’t just saving space; we are building a recyclable economy. Instead of the “build-and-discard” cycle that has plagued film sets for decades, Vault provides the infrastructure to preserve, reuse, and reduce.
“One thing that truly resonated was the realization that regardless of where we come from- Shanghai, Mumbai, or beyond- our overall enthusiasm for making a greener economy is identical.
Beyond the Classroom: Vault Tour

The following day, a group of inspired students visited VAULT: in the image from left to right: Farhad Nazar Pour, Natalia Naumenko, Saurabh Kabra, Marc Bernard-Ceroux, Bryan Lee, and Olga Alexandrova. Saurabh personally guided the group through VAULT’s secure facility in Goregaon, vividly showcasing real client inventories from costume rentals to prop archives.
The highlight of the tour? A hands-on experience of an active film set, where they saw VAULT-delivered items in action, bridging theory to practice.
Looking Ahead: A Shared Mission for Mother Earth

We are filled with immense gratitude for the opportunity to share the Vault vision with these international learners. Their non-stop hunger for knowledge and fresh perspectives on sustainability has only fueled our fire to make Vault.rent a better service.
Our goal is simple yet ambitious: to be of aid to Mother Earth by ensuring that the “Business of Film” doesn’t come at the cost of our environment.
